I am breaking every barrier in my mind
I am kicking fear beneath sand
I breathe a little softer, stare a little longer
I am humming the sacred tune of my kind

Of women who quelled the world with their tongues
Of women who bear the brunt of the sun
Of women who neither blink nor look away

Who beckon the world’s fists with a bloody smile
Who touch the sky with their minds.
Of the ones who pave way for the young

I tease livewires with a licked finger
Therefore you should know
I am of the wind and the brilliant sun

I am the drops of the crying sky
I am the calm before the storm
You should be wary of me,
Because when it rains it pours.
